BUSY is one of India's best-known accounting and GST billing packages, used by traders, distributors and manufacturers for decades. DukanData is newer and narrower: it is built around the retail counter. Both make a GST bill. They differ in what they put first.

Where BUSY is strong
If your business is as much accounting as it is selling — many ledgers, manufacturing, branches consolidated by an accountant, GST reconciliation worked inside the software — BUSY has years of depth there, and your accountant very likely knows it already.
Where DukanData is different
- The counter keeps going. The Windows counter app has its own copy of the shop and bills with the internet down; the owner still sees every bill from anywhere, in a browser.
- Nothing to install on the owner's side. The owner opens a browser at home and sees today's sales, the dues and the stock. There is no server PC to keep running in the shop.
- Control at the till. A cashier's discount stops at their limit; a manager says yes from their own phone. Every approval is on record.
- The day is closed, not just ended. The drawer is counted, the difference is written down, and the day's report reaches the owner's WhatsApp.
- Set up for you. A person at DukanData brings in your items, parties and opening stock from your own Excel sheet on the first call.
What DukanData is not
DukanData is not an accounting package for a chartered accountant's office. It has no payroll, no manufacturing and no TDS. It keeps a shop's books — cash, bank, expenses, ledgers, GST — and hands your accountant the figures.
