A chemist's counter carries thousands of items, each with a batch and a date, and one expired strip sold is one too many. Billing software for a medical store has to know the batch before the cashier does.
What a medical store needs
- Batch and expiry on every purchase, entered once from the supplier's bill.
- No expired stock sold. The till must refuse it, not merely warn.
- Fast search by name or barcode, with the MRP that is printed on the pack.
- GST by HSN, with the rates medicines carry.
- Returns to the supplier for what did not sell.
How DukanData does it
Batches and expiry. With the batch and expiry part of your plan, each purchase line carries its batch number and expiry date. The till sells from the batches that are still good and never from one that has expired. The home screen tells you what is about to expire, while there is still time to return it.
MRP and the two price rules. A bill never goes above MRP and never below cost. Both hold for everybody.
Purchases as printed. Type the supplier's bill line by line with its batch, expiry, MRP and free quantity. The amount works out the rate.
Returns. Goods going back to the supplier become a debit note that cuts what you owe them. A customer's return becomes a credit note or money back.
GST. Every line carries its HSN and rate; the GSTR-1 figures, the HSN summary and purchases with input tax are ready for your accountant.
What it does not do
DukanData is a billing and stock system, not a specialist pharmacy package: it has no salt or substitute search and keeps no prescription register. For a retail counter with batches, expiry and GST it does the job well.
Bills and reminders
Each bill goes to the customer's WhatsApp from your own number. A regular customer's dues are one tap from a reminder.
