A supermarket is a kirana with four counters, eight cashiers on two shifts and a godown at the back. The questions change: which counter was short, who gave that discount, what is on the shelf and what is in the store.
What a supermarket needs
- Several counters billing at the same time into one shop.
- Counters that do not stop when the internet does.
- Shifts, each cashier answering for their own drawer.
- Barcode billing at speed, with labels for what has no barcode.
- Shelf and godown stock kept apart.
How DukanData does it
Counters. Each counter PC runs the Windows counter app with its own copy of the items, prices and customers. It bills offline and syncs to the shop by itself. A plan says how many counters a shop may have.
Shifts. A cashier opens a shift with a float and closes it with a count. The difference is approved by a manager. The day end adds the shifts up.
Staff control. A login for each person; a cashier never sees cost or profit; discounts and refunds stop at their limit; a manager approves with a PIN, a phone code or a WhatsApp reply.
Stock. The shelf and the godown are separate; a transfer moves goods between them. A stock count can be done one aisle at a time on a counter PC.
Offers. Schemes, coupons, loyalty points and gift vouchers — where your plan has them — are worked out by the till, not by the cashier.
Branches. A second shop is a branch with its own stock and counters, under the same books.
