Billing

Estimates, orders and delivery challans

The papers before a bill, and how each becomes one.

Estimate (quotation)

A price for a customer who is deciding. It moves no stock and owes nothing. When they say yes, Make a bill turns it into a bill in one click, lines and all.

Sales order

A customer has ordered and will collect later. The order holds the lines until the goods go, and the bill is made from it in one click, lines and all.

Delivery challan

Goods going out before the bill — to a customer's site, on approval, or to another branch. The stock moves to an "out on challan" shelf, so the shop's count stays true, and the bill follows when it is made.

Purchase order

The other direction: what the shop has asked a supplier for. When the goods arrive, the purchase bill is made from the order and the Order list is cut down by what came.

Which are in your plan

Estimates, sales orders, delivery challans and purchase orders are plan parts: see the pricing page for which plan holds which.
