The invoice
- Each item carries its GST rate and HSN code, set once.
- The bill works out CGST and SGST for a customer in your state and IGST for one outside it, line by line.
- A B2B invoice carries both GSTINs; a B2C bill prints the tax split on a thermal slip or an A4 sheet.
- Prices can be inclusive or exclusive of tax — by shop and by item — and the bill shows the split either way.
- A credit note for a return reverses the tax it should.
The return
- GST summary for any period: taxable value and tax, rate by rate.
- HSN summary, as GSTR-1 asks for it.
- B2B and B2C sales apart, with credit notes against each.
- Purchases with input tax, for the reconciliation.
- The GSTR-1 file as the JSON the GST portal takes, for the month or the quarter.
Every figure in the reports is the figure on the bills. There is no second set of books to keep in step.
E-invoice and e-way bill
