Opening your shop on DukanData

1. Open the account

Sign up with your mobile number. A code arrives on WhatsApp; type it in, choose a password, and give the shop's name and the state it is in. That is the whole of it — no card, nothing to pay, 14 days free.

2. We set the shop up with you

On your first call, a person at DukanData fills in the shop's particulars from the panel: its address and GSTIN, its branches, where its bill numbers carry on from, the words at the foot of its bills, and the ways it takes money (cash, UPI, card, credit). Keep your GST certificate and your last bill book at hand for that call.

3. Bring in your items

Three ways:

• Type them — Items → New item: name, unit, MRP, selling rate and GST rate.
• Scan them — on the new-item screen, scan the pack and its barcode is filled in; print a label for an item that has none.
• Send us your list — an Excel or CSV from your old software or your supplier. We bring it in for you, with opening stock and what each customer owes.

4. Make the first bill

Open Billing in the browser, or the counter app on the Windows PC. Scan or type the first item, press Pay, choose cash or UPI, and print. The stock moves, the day book moves, and if the customer's number is on the bill it reaches their WhatsApp.

What to do next

• Link the shop's WhatsApp number (Settings → WhatsApp) so bills go to customers from your own number.
• Give each person at the counter their own login (Staff), with a role that says what they may do.
• Set a reorder level on the items that run out, and watch the Order list fill itself.
